Program Highlights

• Diverse Practice Sites: BH-SLRP practice sites encompass a wide range of organizations, from behavioral health authorities to community services boards, federally qualified health centers, and more. Your skills will be put to good use where they are needed the most.
• Diversity Matters: Priority is given to BH professionals of color, multilingual individuals, and those working in Virginia’s mental health professional shortage areas. We believe in creating a diverse and inclusive workforce that truly reflects the communities we serve.
• Financial Support: The program offers financial assistance to eligible professionals, covering up to 25% of your student loan debt. Depending on your discipline, annual limits range from $20,000 to $30,000.
• No Match Required: Unlike many programs, we don’t ask for an employer or community match. Your commitment to serving underserved populations is what matters most.
